If you wake up one morning to look for reasons you will find them. “What reasons?” You may ask. Any reasons! If you look for reasons to hate someone, you will find. If you look for reasons to quit you will find them. If you look for reasons to love you will find. If you look for reasons to stay hopeful you will find. Life is full of reasons, and we are always looking for them.
Joseph had many reasons to sleep with Potiphar’s wife; One of them being that her husband was not around and it was possible that no one would know. The second one is that she was very beautiful. But he found reasons not to. Job had many reasons to curse God; One of them being that he had not done anything to deserve all the pain and suffering he was going through. The second one is that people close to him advised him to do so. But he found reasons to hold on. He held on to his faith through the pain.
Today you have many reasons to sin, many reasons to let go of your faith, many reasons to give up on your marriage or family, many reasons to let go of that ministry, you may even have reasons to kill yourself. But those are not the only reasons available. There are also plenty of reasons for you to love, for you to hold on, for you to stay strong and keep loving, for you to stay in your marriage, for you to stay alive. I pray that you overlook the former reasons and find the latter.
You also have reasons to praise God today, no matter how the year has been: Find them. Remember whatever reasons you look for, you will find. I pray that you look for the right ones.
