I do not believe in reality shows, I enjoy some ‘reality shows’ but I never believe that they are real. This is why; we always behave in a certain way when we know someone is watching, especially when we know we are being recorded. Everyone has a particular reputation that they work hard to keep. Imagine yourself in your house, in your bedroom, look at the things you do from the time you wake up. Now imagine being recorded and watched by people; are the two scenarios similar?
Today I have been thinking about ‘El Roi’ the God who sees. How real is Jehovah El Roi to you? In every step you take, are you alert, knowing that His eyes are on you. Many times we box God in a particular area and behave in a special way in that location, forgetting His omnipresent nature. How alert are you to God’s presence? In your walk, talk and thoughts, do you consider the fact that the God who sees is with you? In your pain and distress, do you acknowledge that the God who sees cares about you?
What does he see?
- He sees our hearts – For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
- He sees those who fear Him – Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, Psalm 33:18
- He sees our pain – “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen[c] the One who sees me.” Genesis 16:13
- He sees our good deeds – ‘…so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.’ – Matthew 6:4
He sees everything we are about. With that in mind, imagine He is in the room, in your bedroom, will you change anything? We behave in a certain way when people watch us, what about when God is watching?
Only God sees the reality of everyone’s life, we should be more concerned that God sees us inside out that what man sees. He not only sees but He also cares. He sees our pain and suffering, He sees our sin, He sees our faithfulness, He sees our struggles, He sees our situations, He sees our faith and He sees our Future.Today, pay attention to the God who sees and cares. You don’t have to put on many faces to maintain a reputation; be real to who you are. Work to please the God who knows and sees the real you, yet He still loves you. His eyes are watching over you with love.
