Strong Network

When one is on an important phone call, a network issue affecting the clarity of the conversation is what they dread. The festive season is here, many people travel to remote places in the country and always have to ‘look for network” when makin g phone calls. Some have to walk a distance from home, others will have to climb a tree, others have a specific corner in the house where the mobile network is strong. People go through all this when the conversation is important, especially for love birds, people in business and also connecting with family.

I have had my fair share of network problems, I used to live in a house that had zero mobile network. It worked so well when I needed my peace and quiet. But when I was expecting an important call, I had to stand outside my house and wait, and at times hold lengthy conversations outside. Just because they were important. Everyone and everything else had to wait for the following day, because at my work place, I was perfectly connected.

Have you ever experienced the frustration of being disconnected or distorted when having an important conversation? How did it make you feel? Especially when receiving direction, to what extend did you go to make sure the conversation is sustained?

When we pray, we have a conversation with God. A complete conversation includes talking and listening. When it comes to God, there’s talking, listening and obeying.

Are we bothered when the directions are not clear? Are we bothered when there’s a communication breakdown? (Of course from our side?) Do we even know what causes us not to hear clearly?

On those instances when we don’t hear Gods directly clearly, can we walk outside our normal lives to lonely places in order to hear him well? Do we make sacrifices to make sure the communication lines are open and clear? Or do we put the phone aside because, it’s not important, “it can wait till I’m better’

This week I pray that we be bothered when our conversations with God are not flowing well. That we will find that specific corner where there are no distractions and connect to God, where the network is strong. We shall be quick to fast and pray for clarity. That we shall keenly listen and confidently obey .

No matter where you are, as long as you are connected, you will hear God speak.

‘Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
