Rejection is Protection

We have all been told ‘NO’ and said ‘NO’ to someone. Well, those two letters can crush a soul, especially when they come frequently and from the same source. I remember applying for a job to my then dream company. I went to school to work for this media house, and they sent me a regret note after another. I was devastated, I could not imagine working elsewhere. God later opened a radio job for me, and my dream company fired almost half its employees. I look back and I know God protected me from the retrenchment. He knew I would be living with my daughter and I needed a permanent job.

It happened in relationships as well. There are times I was so in love and the more I was rejected and told ‘NO’ the more I crushed and believed that God hated me and had forgotten me. Being rejected made me feel like something was wrong with me and I would never be loved by anyone. Looking back, it is evident, God was protecting me and leading me to His ‘YES’

Today you may have received a ‘NO’ after an interview, in a relationship or even from family. It is painful and at times we walk around hurting others with our pain. Turn it into joy, because God is up to something. Be reminded that when man rejects you, its God’s way of protecting you. We are assured that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He will never abandon or reject us. We are His children, the sheep of His pasture. Today, instead of crying over the rejection, praise God for the protection. You may not see it right now, but it is working for your good.

Even Jesus was rejected by man, after doing nothing but good. But it was for a greater glory. Matthew 21:42 Jesus asks “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? You too shall become a cornerstone, God is doing something new, soon you shall declare that it is marvelous in our eyes.
