God is committed to protect, deliver cover and rescue you. Here is what God will do: He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
The above is an excerpt from the book of psalm 91 but I did not begin from the start, all these are promises made to them that dwell in the shelter of the Most High God: Those who make God their refuge and fortress. Who doesn’t desire such full protection and total cover? The key is to seize from making God a casual and convenient person that we to when we are in need, but making Him that our permanent dwelling place, that we shall live in Him and abide in Him that He shall be our source of everything, that we shall have full faith and confidence in Him.
Just like sheep we cannot survive without a shepherd; alone in the wild we are lost and exposed to any kind of attack. Many times we covet the promises, we want to come pick our basket full of promises then disappear for a month, once the basket is depleted, we come back on our knees begging for more. It doesn’t work that way, God desires that we come and not walk away, that we shall dwell there and experience total cover. God has a secret place, Jesus Christ, where He hides His treasure. He is willing to hide you only if you dwell. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
There is safety in trusting in the Lord, there is safety in living in the atmosphere of prayer and worship. There is a special cover for them that believe in their hearts and confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord. May the Lord help us to dwell.
