Don’t Let Them!

We live in a society where strangers can make you have a bad day. You innocently post something on social media and someone decides to put you down through their hateful opinion. It has become so harsh on the streets of social media that nowadays its not the post that matters, but the comments. People are working hard to make their comments stand out, no matter the cost. Heard of CRA? Yeah that’s what they call themselves, ‘Comment Readers Association’. If one is not careful, they might end up in depression because of what was commented on their photo, or when no one cared to comment.

I have seen people neglect their godly duties and assignments because of what people say about them. I almost fell on that trap at some point. You may be aware that I mentor young ladies through different platforms, especially on matters relationships. There was a season where I was bombarded with so much negativity. Everything I posted about single ladies was met with, ‘Why are you not talking to men? You have failed? Why are you biased? Why don’t you record more shows? why don’t you do this? This is not working? You are not doing it right? It was too much! I almost let them have their way and take a back seat. Then I remembered something…

I remembered that satan’s job description is to steal kill and destroy. (John 10:10). I remembered that the ministry I’m involved with does not belong to me but to God. I remembered that God has commanded me to stand firm and not let the devil have a foothold/chance. (Ephesians 4:27) I remembered the God who called me is faithful, He has began a good work in me and He is faithful to see it unto completion. (Philippians 1:6) So I got my confidence back, because in this kingdom business we don’t fight against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)

Today you may be discouraged; maybe people have been pulling you down as you serve. You may be losing the joy of salvation, disgruntled because of the challenges you are facing in ministry, or even in your walk with God. Please don’t let them! Those negative comments, discouraging words, mockery and abuse are targeted at you because you are bearing fruit. People are not fighting you, the devil is. He is fighting God’s work as expected. Stand strong and keep moving. Find confidence in knowing that God is on your side. Keep your focus on Him, keep obeying His voice and doing exactly what He commands you to.
