‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’ (Isaiah 40:31) This is one of my best Bible verses, it is actually one of the verses that prompted me to study the eagle and desire the ‘eagle mindset’ Many times we focus on soaring on wings like eagles, running and walking, and forget ‘BUT THOSE’
The children of Israel had come to a point where they were going through hard times. It was complicated for them; they were being oppressed by the Syrian army. And at that time prophet Isaiah spoke to them, he came to tell them that there is an option for strength renewal, there is a way out for refreshing and not fainting. It takes hoping in the Lord, waiting upon His salvation. It doesn’t mean that everything will be instantly fixed, it means when we hope in the Lord, even in the midst of tribulation we shall be of good fear.
You and I have an option, either to complain and cry in the storms or to wait upon the Lord even when running, even when walking, being assure that no matter what we face, no matter how tough it gets we shall be refreshed to keep moving. This world is full of challenges and pressures, at times we feel like we cannot make one more step, at times we struggle to wake up. God did not promise that things will be easy, He promised to be with us even when things are thick. We don’t need to look for shortcuts, we don’t need to look for other solutions away from God’s plan; they will make us more faint and weary.
In the midst of all the pressures and struggles of the world: God promises renewal to those who wait on him. Yes, it is not for everyone, it is for those who hope in the Lord, don’t expect refreshing strength yet you hope in man, in money, in your career, in your on strength. It only comes to those who hope in the Lord. Today, wait upon the Lord. He is able to do something fresh even in a pressured and crooked world. Are you one of ‘those’?
