As I write this, I cannot believe that have written a devotion daily throughout this year. It was a few months after resigning from my radio job. My husband and I were talking about 2020 plans and I felt empty; I wanted something to do this year. Something impactful. I remembered how I used to prepare devotions at work, each morning for on-air ministry. My husband suggested that I start writing on my website.
I knew it was a confirmation of what I was convicted by the Holy Spirit to do. But I had a few excuses; First I told him that I could not come up with a name for the blog. Well, my husband is very creative, he has named almost everything I do. So he gave me a list of names and I chose ‘Treasured Truth’ I then started doubting if I will have enough content to write each morning. He reminded me that God never runs out of ideas. I also tried suggesting that the network may be off or shaky. But he encouraged me to start.
It has been quite a journey: I have written from my bed, from the kitchen, while traveling, in hotels, by the roadside, and even while in hospital. There are mornings when I have been blank, at times I have been unwell, many times I have felt inadequate and unqualified to write: Then there is COVID -19 that did not stop me, instead, the pandemic inspired me to keep writing. But through it all, I have published articles each morning. God has faithfully enabled me to do His work: That is what He does.
This last day, I have come to testify: When God instructs you to do something, He will equip you with all you need to accomplish it. Stop doubting and coming up with excuses, God is always in charge of His work and He never fails. Philippians 1:6 reminds us; “being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
God has an assignment for you this 2021. You have all it takes, He will be with you throughout the way. You may feel like giving up, you may feel inadequate, but remember God is with you, He will never leave you, He will never forsake you. He is a faithful friend.
Thank you for the great support you have accorded me on this journey. May your cup overflow.
Happy New Year
